For the machine manufacturer Silberhorn, an extremely successful parts2clean is coming to an end. The manufacturer reports several useful discussions – both with already known customers and with many new companies. The Silberhorn exhibit at the trade fair was the MWS chamber cleaning system – it impressed visitors with its modern design, its equipment configuration options and its powerful performance in the least of spaces. A special highlight for the Silberhorn team was the sale of the trade fair machine to a new customer on the first morning of the Parts2Clean.
The trade fair appearance: an eye-catcher
Standard containers instead of heavy-duty transport: The compact footprint of the Silberhorn MWS of about 7 m² maximum – which means it still fits easily into an overseas container – was the inspiration for the trade fair stand design. Silberhorn presented the MWS in a container. This attracted the attention of the professional visitors and received many compliments.
In the spotlight: the Silberhorn MWS
Silberhorn experts from the sales, service and development departments were available as contact persons for customers and interested parties. The focus of most discussions: the Silberhorn MWS. What is so special about it? The single-chamber cleaning system meets high to very stringent demands on parts cleanliness, is manufactured highly efficiently in mass production, can generally be delivered within a few weeks and is delivered almost completely assembled – 'Plug & Clean' is the motto. This saves time and money.
The modular design of the Silberhorn MWS is also extraordinary. The innovative cleaning system is available as a 1-, 2- or 3-tank system and can be perfectly adapted to customized cleaning requirements thanks to numerous options. An example of this is the optional EMC package (Electrical & Medical Cleaning). This option is aimed at users who are on the lookout for a cleaning solution that is as thorough as it is economical for parts with particulate or film build-up.
Technological highlights in the EMC package
- Conductivity monitoring by sensor
To be on the safe side when it comes to cleanliness, a sensor checks the quality of the rinsing water by measuring the electrical conductivity in the corresponding tank. If a previously defined threshold value is exceeded, the MWS automatically sounds an alarm and recommends that the cleaning fluid be treated.
- Electropolished surfaces
In the EMC version, the surfaces of the cleaning chamber are made of electropolished stainless steel. This is particularly important for applications in medical technology, because electropolishing considerably reduces the ability of the cleaned parts to adhere to germs.
- Discarding rinsing
For rinsing after the cleaning process, the medium in the tanks is not used, but instead an external, brand new medium. This flows into the EMC chamber via a separate feed line. In this way, the MWS meets the most stringent cleanliness requirements. At the same time, the service life of the cleaning liquids increases significantly.
- Reprocessing the cleaning liquids
In addition to the EMC package, Silberhorn offers the use of activated carbon and ion exchangers for the treatment of the cleaning liquids. This improves the quality of the cleaning liquids even more and the users achieve consistently high and first-class cleaning quality of their components. The cleaning liquids can be used for longer - thus saving money.

Spontaneous "YES" to the MWS
Right in the morning of the very first day of the trade fair, Acktar from Israel spontaneously decides to buy the Silberhorn MWS trade fair machine. "To sell a machine so quickly to a company that you didn't even know before is quite a rarity in our industry," says Silberhorn CEO Wolfgang Prem enthusiastically. "After all, this is ultimately high praise – the customer obviously appreciates the quality and workmanship of our machine as well as the work of our team – and that makes us very happy and it is an honour for us."
"One of the aspects I found convincing," reports Dina Katsir, CTO at Acktar, "was the fourth tank for the final rinse with deionised water. This buffer tank, which is specifically included in the EMC package, is not too big, so the wastewater volume and disposal are also comparatively manageable. If you use the buffer tank for intermediate rinsing, carry-over is reduced to a minimum."

Parts2Clean: Love at first sight
Knowledge transfer through expert presentations
Parts2Clean in Stuttgart has made an international name for itself as a trade and work fair. One reason for this is the abundance of excellent opportunities for knowledge transfer – for example, within the framework of the specialist forum at Parts2Clean.
Silberhorn was also represented with a presentation: "Filtration as a stepchild - Why it makes sense to take a closer look". Martin Seger, development engineer, shared with owners of cleaning systems a guideline on how to determine the right approach to filter selection for themselves. First, he recommended a comprehensive practical test. The second step is the individual cost calculation.
Why is it advisable to deal with this subject?
In a cleaning system, the filter has an impact on the service life of the baths (i.e. on how long a cleaning liquid can be used) and thus, on the cleanliness of the components. In addition, it is crucial how long the filter can be used before it has to be changed. Assuming that a high-quality filter costs more than 100 Euros and lasts on average about three to four days, the total operating costs are quite considerable and it is worth taking a closer look at the matter.

Filtration: A checklist for users
Conclusion: After Parts2Clean is before the FMB
Many successful appointments, good discussions, new contacts and valuable suggestions: participation in Parts2Clean 2023 in Stuttgart was worthwhile for Silberhorn. "We are more than satisfied with the results," says Wolfgang Prem, Managing Director of Maschinenbau Silberhorn GmbH, and adds: "The great response we received for the Silberhorn MWS shows that we meet the requirements of the users with our new development, i.e. that we are on the right track."
And this is how it goes on:
